Description
Aeroquip Versa-Flare flareless tube nut with -4JIC (7/16″ UNF) thread to suit 1/4″ pipe.
Versa-Flare is a steel tube nut and olive which requires no flaring tool to install and can be used with steel, aluminium, copper and kunifer pipe. A cost effective solution to creating hard lines for brake feed (non-pressure), oil and fuel systems.
The nut slides over the tube, the olive is then pushed over the tube with the coned end into the nut. A -6JIC steel adaptor can then be screwed into the tube nut which partially crushes the olive to create the 37° seat required to seal.
The adaptor used upon construction must be steel – aluminium or other material will be damaged in this process.
These Versa-Flare tube nuts can only be reused ten times. If the seal is broken more then ten times, the tube nut and olive must be replaced and the tube cut to allow the new item to be fitted.
